Crown Mobile Detailing · Crown Crew App
Privacy Policy
What the Crown Crew app collects from a detailer's phone, why, and who else ever sees it.
Effective October 6, 2026
01
Who this policy covers
This policy covers the Crown Crew mobile app, used by people who detail vehicles for Crown Mobile Detailing ("Crown Mobile Detailing," "we," "us"). It is a staff and contractor tool, not a consumer app — it's used by the detailers who take job offers through it, and by Crown Mobile Detailing's own owner/operator account for dispatch and review.
02
What we collect
Everything below is collected because the app can't do its job without it — routing a job to you, proving you showed up, or getting you paid.
| Category | What, specifically | Why |
| Account info | Full name, phone number, a password (stored as a salted hash — we can't read it back) | Signing in, and knowing which detailer is which |
| Location | Precise GPS location. Always while the app is open; in the background too, but only while you're on duty — active status, and inside the working hours you've set. You'll see an on-screen indicator whenever background location is active, per Apple/Google's own requirement. | Showing how far a job or offer is from you, sending an ETA to the office and customer once you're en route, and keeping the office's live map accurate for your whole shift even if you switch apps or lock your phone |
| Home address | Free-text address you type in, optional | Estimating distance from home when you aren't actively tracking en route |
| Photo ID | A photo of a government-issued ID (driver's license, state ID or passport), taken once during sign-up | Confirming who's driving to a customer's home before an account goes live |
| Job photos | Before/after photos of the vehicle, and proof-of-payment photos | Documenting the work and closing out payment on a job |
| Messages | In-app chat with a customer on an active job, or with the office | Coordinating the job — arrival, access, questions |
| Push token | A device identifier from Apple/Google's notification service | Alerting your phone the moment a job offer comes in |
| Work records | Jobs taken, completed, earnings, ratings | Paying you correctly and keeping a record either of us can point to |
We do not collect contacts, photos outside the app, browsing history, or anything from your phone beyond what's listed above.
03
Payments
When a customer pays by card, that payment is processed by Stripe directly through Apple's Tap to Pay. Crown Crew's own servers never see or store the card number — Stripe hands us back a confirmation, not the card.
04
Who we share it with
We don't sell your information, and we don't share it for advertising — there isn't any advertising in this app. It goes to:
- Stripe, to process a customer's card payment.
- Supabase, the database and file storage our servers run on — an infrastructure provider, not a party who looks at your data.
- Twilio, for text messages the business sends on the office side of the operation.
- Another detailer, only when it's operationally necessary — e.g. a customer's address is visible to whoever is assigned that job, the same way it would be on a paper work order.
05
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as you're an active or prospective detailer, and for a reasonable period after — generally the length of time tax and business records need to be kept. An ID photo and job photos are stored in a private file bucket that only Crown Mobile Detailing's own account can read.
06
Your choices
You can delete your account yourself in the app: Account → Delete account. That erases your name, phone number, home address, location, ID photo, password and chat with the office, and signs you out. Records of jobs you completed and what you were paid are kept, no longer tied to your name, because the business has to keep them for tax and accounting. You can also ask us to see what we have on you, correct it, or delete it, by contacting us at the address below.
Background location — the app reading your position while it's not the one you're looking at — only ever runs while you're on duty: your account status is active, and it's inside the working hours you've set for that day. It stops the moment either stops being true — you're paused or inactive, or you're outside your own hours — checked continuously, not just at the start of a shift. It never runs on a day you aren't scheduled to work at all. The app will ask you separately, the first time this device is ever found on duty, whether to turn this on; saying no just means the office's live map goes quiet while you're not looking at the app, everything else still works the same. You can turn it off any time after in your phone's own Settings app, under Crown Crew's location permission — and turning off location entirely in Settings, foreground or background, just means offers and jobs stop showing a distance.
07
Children
Crown Crew is a work tool for our detailers and isn't directed at, or intended for, anyone under 18.
08
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll update the effective date at the top and let active detailers know.
